The thing with Microsoft, is that they never seem particularly bothered about making their coding efficient. It always seems to be a case of "Intel can make a faster PC." And so, almost the entire computing world is locked into a cycle of built-in obsolescence.

I have in my garage an elderly (2003) Philips notebook that is still running Windows XP it does what I need it for but probably wouldn't run anything current.
