That is why i am asking for advice, there are cheaper versions of this. The Swedish seem to specialise in it.

Why not have an informal meeting with someone in planning, or even your local councillor, who could give you a better idea of what was acceptable.

Looking at your Google photo, I would have thought the oak framed structure you linked to would be "out of character" for the location.

Just my opinion of course.

A design like this would be great but I don't think it would get planning!

Put a big NVA on the front in gold and call it BBBBBBBBBBBBCube, it will need speaker sockets on the back

The architects I work for designed a house using blue/grey bricks on the ground floor and charred timber cladding on the first. The house next to it is in stone and the one on the other side is cream coloured render so quite a contrast. I've sent you a PM with a link to the company that built it as they also do design / planning / building regs etc as well so might be able to give you some advice.
