Run in - Warm up

Unread post by Dr Bunsen Honeydew »

Run in = everything even cable. I sit here everyday listening to it happening, but when you get most of it has been done.

Warm up = speakers massively at least a track, depending how long they have been off. Amps, the more expensive and large power supply the more so. Cables a little.

I prefer the expression "come on song" but warm up has become the accepted term.

Was it cryogenic treated before that. A bit of quantum tunnelling might have helped its flavour, depending on the hole.

My phonostage takes about 10 minutes to hit its stride, my amps and dac considerably less.

211s take half an hour to come on song. I'm surprised that my Crown PSA2 being solid state takes as long as it does, a good fifteen minutes. Of course any one or all of my source components could be to blame. I'm not bothered though as its all part of the game.
