Hi Chaps

Thought I'd say a proper hello. Been lurking for a while. (thanks AOS)

A little about me.;

Music tastes encompass pretty much anything though I draw the line at Rap, Garage etc. and most modern pop I find totally unmemorable.

I did my degree in Electronic Engineering, (something I passed through the skin of my teeth) and then moved into IT and Telecoms so haven't touched any of it in the best part of 25 years.

Upshot here, I should know a resistor from a capacitor but don't expect me to remember anything of any use :-). Do expect me to ask stupid questions.

I like to know the theory behind stuff but definitely fit into the subjectivist camp, what does it sound like is after all the only thing that matters.

I've been into hifi since my teens (thanks Dad) and progressing from a very un-hifi Phillips Midi system, to my first all Technics separates system, acquired over many birthdays and Xmas's. Most of that system I don’t regret moving on, but I rather wish I'd kept the battleship build amp to try with some decent speakers.

I've been through a variety of kit over the years but currently my systems look as follows;

Main Lounge Rig
Xbox One - Main Video Source running Plex and multiple other video apps
Pioneer PDS904 CD (always liked the stable platters)
Raspberry Pi with HifiBerry Digi+ running Picoreplayer (Squeezebox client) powered by Long Dog Audio Linear PSU
Technics SL1210 Turntable, Audio Technica AT120 Cartridge, Isonone feet and Techi Boots
Arcam AV9 - Preamp/Processor
Arcam P7 7 Channel Power Amp
Monitor Audio Gold Series Speakers
BK Electronics Monolith Subwoofer
Dedicated Mains Radial Circuits from a dedicated CU. Currently non optimised due to way to many 13 amp plugs and filters

Office Rig
Raspberry PI with HifiBerry DAC+ running Picoreplayer (Squeezebox client)
Marantz PM66SE KI Signature Amp
Monitor Audio Bronze Bookshelf Speakers

Kitchen Rig
02 Joggler running Squeezebox Jivelite and Squeezlite
Project Amp Box
Sonance in ceiling speakers

Garage / Workshop Rig
Lenovo Tablet Running Plex, Orange Squeeze and Roon Remote Clients
Old Sony Mini System

Bedroom Rig
Logitech Squeezebox Radio
Denon DHT5000 Closed back headphones

Streaming Server
DIY UnRaid server running Plex, Squeezebox Server, Roon Core

Liking the refreshing bullshit free attitude on here compared to some other places.

Welcome (thanks AoS  )

That is quite a few systems you have there.

Won't cost much to replace it all with NVA :epopc:

Ha ha ha

It's a slippery slope you know. Like an ex smoker who thinks one cig on a night out won't do any harm. Next thing you know your on 20 a day. Many have swapped to NVA and made money

Get that headphone amp bought before the price goes up on 1 April.

Stu

I do indeed mean the AH-D5000 , not quit sure what happened there. Very impressive cans so far if not a little light in the bass department. Hopefully the newly ordered amp will straighten that out
