Come on Steve. You can't blame the government for crappily run companies failing. Toys R Us failed to embrace on-line selling while the failings of Maplin have been mentioned by customers on this forum and others. I actually think a few more will go that have been limping along since the 2008 crash and growth of on-line. Would love to see Sports Direct go under due to the owner and he would have to sell Newcastle United. Probably a relief for exploited workers.

Not blaming the Government for the business failures, just musing on what this country must look like to others.
Braying upper class public school tossers do not command the same respect abroad as they so unexplainably do here.
Ranting tabloids egging on working people who ought to know better than to believe the crap they spout. What's that all about?

This is becoming a nasty small minded country. I've never known such a poisoned atmosphere. The problem with our democracy is that the voice of the majority is not represented. Whoever is the biggest bunch of lying gobshites is usually the minority that gets to prevail over everyone else, whether they like it or not.
Compulsory voting would go a long way to effecting change.

Gobshite-ery - that seems to be what it is all about these days.

No.
I can't understand why a lot of working class people are so bloody right wing either. I'm proud of my Northern industrial roots and the older I get, the more of a lefty I become and I make no apology for it. I want a fair and just society that looks after its citizens and am sick to death of the me me me attitude and the I want everything but don't want to pay for it mindset that has grown up since the 80s.

What we have is lack of choice. As pointed out every party in favour of unpopular vanity schemes like HS2 and 3rd runway at heathrow. Not to mention foreign aid - found to be funding sexual deviants on an Oxfam jolly trip. After wasting billions economic reality will hit and these schemes will be stopped even half built. Instant answer to lack of social care and NHS problems (though it's not all about money).

Those are not differences in politicians and classic if nobody wants your policies you need to look within.
