Anna, well said. As strange as this might sound, don't forget to look after yourself. This is an emotionally and physically draining time. The family will be relying on you in ways they never have before. Do your best to eat properly and get enough sleep. This might sound obvious but in times of trouble these are the things people forget to do.

+1

As someone who has had to nurse a partner after a serious medical situation I know that it is important to (try to) stay positive and keep yourself healthy so you can be strong for others.

Best wishes also to you Anna - you're doing a wonderful job and keep it up.

....................., despite sharing views about politics and music. However, this is not something I would wish on anyone. Wishing you a speedy and full recovery.

Truly saddened to learn of DQ's illness. I wish Dan, Anna and the whole family all the best and a full and speedy recovery. My first experience of DQ was being mocked for owning an LP12 and Harbeth speakers, all in good heart and a warm welcome to HFS.

Life goes on, but it is going to be a long hard road.

"They have said this before, that the bleed was catastrophic and it would be long but my good old brain refused to believe it. I am only just understanding time scale. They don't really know but the scale is more like 6-8 months before we will know what the future will look like."

"I keep seeing him in there but it's not changing. Still 90 to 95 percent rest/sleep all with eyes closed"

"I am hoping he is stable enough for me to sleep at home tomorrow . But they are so understaffed its scary and he isn't settled. I'll be happier when he is out of the side room. I have been walking with a dementia patient for an hour or so a day to free up a pair of hands."

"I will start worrying about everything else when I have to I guess."

Through the pain of adversity and stress is shown the power and beauty of a good woman.
