DQ, please take more notice of this first stroke than my friend did.
Really excellent and most pertinent advice, please take note DQ and Mrs AQ.

Best wishes for a speedy 100% recovery.

I think DQs current one is bordering on serious. At the moment he has lost speech.

A friend had a stroke about 18 months ago and lost speech initially, however he found that he could "sing" and thus able to communicate better by singing words rather than talking.

Horrible news. There are major degrees in severity, as well as different causes and treatments of 'stroke'. Fingers crossed, and best wishes for a quick and full recovery.

Still getting my head around posting. I made one and it vanished. Anyway.

Thanks you guys it really does mean a lot. DQ is in pretty bad shape and had a hemorrhagic stroke and his right side is severely affected. We are 72 hrs in and he is stable.

Toddler DQ found him and raised the alarm. As Doc says toddler DQ is lost. They are the centre of each others world's and he has no understanding of where daddy has vanished too. I think it is easier for him to get on with the day because I am not around either. His siblings are upset too but are making sure he is supported.

I haven't been home yet and won't until he can communicate in some way. I will try to keep you all posted.

I can see him in there. He does respond to my voice by opening his eyes. I played him follow you, follow me this morning and it seemed to settle him.
