I love this place

Unread post by karatestu »

Since i joined HFS i have not posted on my usual forum much at all.

This is a great place, such a breathe of fresh air and :Bllocks: free.

Everyone give themselves a pat on the back.

I ranted a lot back then because no one would listen to me, and many people were trying to stop the truth getting out there about our industry. I no longer feel like a lone voice.

PFM doesn't seem to fit your profile we have seen here, much too Linn Naim / flat earth dominated, with the converts to valves in constant battles with them.

I still have a Naim cdp and Linn LP12 although i am not sure the fruitbox will stay much longer.

I went to Avondale amps and power supplies with a good mixture of diy thrown in. I am not a Naim or Linn sheep and am not bothered for valves. I dont get involved in arguments, plough my own furrow and make my own decisions from experimenting and what my ears tell me.

It would seem i am almost a perfect fit here. Just need to get rid of the LP12, buy a DD and get my speakers doc modded.

Who knows, probably some nva cables on the cards too.

I feel the same Stu. I like the :Bllocks: free discussion.
I think I might be in the HiFi trade.
I am not currently seeking treatment for this.

Oh, sorry guy. I do think i need to try a DD just to see what they are about.

Only reason i got the LP12 was a friend wanted rid and it was only £150 with lingo as well ! That was in 2000. I put an Aro and lyra argo on it and that is all i have done.

+1 on your sentiments about here Stu, no hidden agenda and foo bandied about,
one place in particular is terrible for that, freedom to discuss your love of any brand and not slated by Doc who insist this is not a NVA forum, take that back a wee bit,
i'd refrain from declaring your love of Harbeth or the twosome that brainwashed us back in the day.

I'd like to try a DD turntable one day, sorely tempted by Savvy's PL71 but i'd need to get rid here first,
i rue the day i turned down a Technics SP10 with PSU and a pre-amp of some sort in a studio console all for £450.00,
but i was still in a 73 vintage LP12 love at the time, look at the price they go for now,
great snatch on yours for £150.00, Argo user here too. 8-)
Frank...made me do it.
