Do you brexit voters think it will still happen

Unread post by Dr Bunsen Honeydew »

If so, in what form, and when.

2/3rd or members of parliament don't want it and they can vote it down.
2/3rd of people with brains (not my assessment) don't want it.
All pensioners with developing and on going senility want it.

Do I want it - I still don't feckin' care, as long term nothing of any real consequence will change.

It will be fudged and mudged, to use an old-fashioned term, and the can will be kicked as far down the road as possible. There will eventually be some form of Brexit, and we'll probably end up with something slightly worse than we have as EU members, at a higher cost.

Apparently, we will not be "no attempt to stay in the EU by the back door". A curious turn of phrase. One can normally only enter or exit via a door and in fact we are currently 'staying by the back door' having said that we're going, but not when.

As I predicted on this very thread , France wishes to close Calais camp and let them come to England now France as no EU obligations to Britain .

An agreement is being talked about , Joe is correct . All that we have exited will necessarily need to be renegotiated upon on slightly less favourable terms .

The whole process has just been a very expensive and disruptive waste of time that in the end will be largely meaningless.

One thing I would say to the tousled haired ex Eton eeeediot is, you got us into it, you get us out of it :x

The English Border at Calais was established by the Le Touquet Accord in 2003 - it's quite separate from any EU thing and so, in theory, would have to be renegotiated separately from 'Brexit'

PM stated today Brexit will go ahead and no going back . No further referendums or elections to confirm or reverse the decision. There are enough members who want out to get it through including Corbyn extreme left who are no enthusiasts of EU. So a majority will be cobbled together and a few Tory MPs arms twisted to tow the line. The Apple / Ireland tax row just underlines the dictatorial nature of Brussels and is another reason the right decision was made. Perhaps Irish should join us outside the EU (which solves the border problem). As far as being in the single market there will have to be compromise on free movement.

It may take a while while we wait for Merkel and Hollande to get booted by their own electorates and I hope Marine Le Pen wins over there so sparking the end of the EU as we know it. People all over Europe have had enough of migration and terrorists so soon we will see major change. The political elite have to fall first. I don't want things staying about the same because present economic malaise will continue with stupidly low interest rates and more people than public services can deal with. Not sustainable in the medium to long term!

A Tory-managed Brexit will be designed to maximise their control over the economy and will lead to the UK becoming a one-party totalitarian state. It's been their big plan since the Thatcher era.
