New Brexit Vote
If we had a new vote now what would you vote based on the recent experience and reality.

Re: New Brexit Vote
I'm sticking with "In" but I doubt whether anyone who now thinks they voted the wrong way will admit it in public, even if they would change their mind in an actual referendum where nobody can see how they cocked up by voting to leave previously.

Re: New Brexit Vote
Should a second referendum be called let us hope that it will be based on the facts and not scaremongering and ambitious megalomania.

Re: New Brexit Vote
There are a lot of sly politicians while saying they accept the result suggesting referendums on negotiations etc. This of course is not practical. Nothing has changed about the downsides of the EU and if we changed our mind we would end up still worse off. I'm pretty sure if Cameron had got some real reforms the vote would have gone the other way but that is not reality. There is an underlying mood demanding cuts in immigration and any politicians undermining this are likely to cause civil unrest in parts of the country. Yep sticking to out - has resulted in some useless leaders going and political change which was badly needed. Also the economy is unlikely to collapse as claimed by the in campaign while a lower pound is actually of benefit to Industry as well as people in Holland buying NVA.

Re: New Brexit Vote
lets just say that the Brexit referendum showed up certain weaknesses in the democratic process.
We've had enough 'discussions' about the result - let's agree to differ.

Re: New Brexit Vote
The fear tactics of the 'In' side against the populist fantasies of B. Johnson Esq. played on the emotions of the voting population. Rather than their common sense.
After the result came in - then people started asking 'what is the EU' and what have we actually voted for? This should all have been clear to them beforehand.
So you get the phenomenon of Bregretters - voted as a gut reaction, as a protest, not out of a solidly formed factual opinion.
Not wanting to start any arguments here - but referendums are fundamentally flawed as the general public will never be in a position to judge for themselves - they are dependent upon what politicians tell them. In this case that was highly-coloured with very little hard information. From both sides.
Cameron basically defending his place in nr. 10 and Johnson wanting it.
