Heroes

Unread post by jammy395 »

Anyone you'd like to shake hands or better still have a few pints with. :?:
Tell us your Hero's. (Living or deceased).

I'll kick of with....

Charles Spencer Chaplin. (Charlie Chaplin)

Always loved him, always cheers me up, I reckon a few beers with Charlie would be a hoot.

:obscene-drinkingcheers:

When I was a kid my great uncle was my kind of hero. He was a quiet man who won the Brooklands 500 mile race in the 1930s in a supercharged Bentley and was a fighter pilot in WW2 and thank the Lord lived to tell the tale, except although he was mentioned in dispatches he didn't like to talk about it....come to think of it he still is a hero to me!

As I grew older I also began to appreciate the sacrifices my mum and dad made for me who downsized the house and sold their car to put me through a good school. I just hope I get my priorities as straight as they did.

Ooh - great thread!

One of my heroes - George Hincapie - I've already met; at the Tour de France team presentation in Puy de Foy. Fantastic! My wife still takes the piss out of me now, 4 years later

The only person I would really like to meet who is alive is Professor Brian Cox.

The other people are sadly dead:

John F Kennedy
Henry Howard - Earl of Surrey
Marcus Valerius Martialis

My dad taught me not to have hero's.

Nichetze taught me to articulate it.

Artists are the manure from which their art grows.

The difference between a hero and an idiot is luck.
