On small things doth our fete hinge. Time for some humble pie. Donkeys years ago I ordered a new Alfasud Sprint and on the day of delivery found some rust on the A pillar so rejected it. I was so annoyed :angry-steamingears: I changed my order to a Peugeot 205GTI 1.6. which to my eternal shame  I spun on a low speed wet and greasy corner and hit an oncoming car with elderly occupants. Luckily no one was injured although I wish I had not worried and shaken up the occupants of the other car. The Peugeot folded up like a piece of tin and was a write off.

Now I am no Lewis Hamilton but still believe to this day had I have kept my cool and got the garage to sort the rust patch I would not have had that accident in the Alfasud Sprint as I would have caught the spin ..we shall never know. I have been fortunate to own a number of quick cars including a 911 and none despite their reputation were as twitchy as that 205GTI.

So many lessons for me including the impetuousness of youth and to respect and value the lives of other road users.

That Honda S2000 was once on my wish list, the last car I owned was Renault Clio Sport and I'll never know how they got a 2.0ltr engine under the bonnet. Anyway I thought it was the safest car I drove, quick when needed and those brakes were excellent. I would have said it was a fun car.
