Noise cancelling headphones

Do they work and how well, anyone any experience or recommendation. As I want to wear them at rest sitting or lying down I suppose in ear would be more comfortable, but I am open minded.

Look on the Ken Rockwell site as he's tested a few over recent times (and he loves my favourite old Crown amps, so must be a good chap ). The name 'Bose' means a lot of things to many people (not always complimentary things either), but their noise cancelling jobbies are well thought of I believe.

There are really 2 ways to go and "noise-cancelling" covers a multitude of sins and true noise-cancelling can be bloody expensive.

I've used these for years. Give 'em a try and If you don't like them you've lost less than a tenner. I think they're bloomin' excellent for the price.

I have used Bose NC Head Phones three times, twice during flights and once in my office. They are expensive but work brilliantly.

I don't understand what you have got me to buy. These are for plugging into something and listening to music. I don't want to listen to anything, I want external noise to be cancelled.
