Email problems

Unread post by Dr Bunsen Honeydew »

I seem to be having email problems. Emails are registering as they are coming in and showing flagged as new mail but they are not going into any of the boxes in Windows Live Mail so I can't retrieve them and read them.

Any clues or solutions please.

I changed from BT to Virgin back in the summer, but have been relying on BT for emails, is this part of the problem.

You may have to log on to the mail host supplier and access them from there. Some pc expert can tell you how to access multiple email accounts in Live Mail - I only have the one ISP and was confused when I tried to add gmail to it...

If you no longer pay BT then they eventually stop the free email account, there is /was a chargeable email service that meant you kept the email account.

Google came up with...

Edit
£1.60 a month.

You sent to me OK. But you didn't receive my reply. Are you using webmail direct (I.e. you go to the BT site and the to mail) or are you using some other software to access mail. If nothing has changed, BT probably has a problem with the servers which transfer the mail to you.

Selby suggested a while back routing it all through the nva website, I think that is the way to go.

At the moment the email address used for nvahifi.co.uk just forwards to your BT address. It's simple to swap it to being an IMAP account. You can then use any mail client you like. Not that you're fussed by this stuff but it also will look more professional.

Terry will need to do it as I don't have access anymore. It's simple to do. I'd investigate migrating all your email from BT to the new service as well, means you've then got a back up of historic email.

Other option is to use gmail, we forward email to the gmail account. You can still send from the nvahifi.co.uk address though, it just spoofs it. If Terry gets stuck, I'm happy to sort it but would need temp access to stuff again.
