As Alfi says, it's just more American bullshit, like fucking school proms, that we just seem to suck up more and more.
I'm buggered if I know what the appeal is with all this American stuff, but I know my kids can't get enough of the crap and neither can their friends. :angry-screaming: :angry-banghead:

Well they created none of this they just took different European traditions and commercialised them. I understand the Prom Ball was an American take on the Debutants Ball as used in upper class and nobility circles in the UK but was democratised. The electing of the King and Queen and courtiers of the prom was a direct feed from this as the Debs one was to introduce you to the King or Queen of the day to see if you were selected for the court, and of course to find a suitable (class) husband.

Aye, I realise that they didn't invent the stuff and, to honest they can do whatever they want. It's just the way that the yoof of today seem to worship at the altar of all things American that pisses me.
