They don't. Virgin Media, Talk Talk and City Fibre are all in that mix. How does that work?
Well, for me it doesn't, as I don't live in a area that any of them thought they could make loads of money by providing services when they were actually laying fibre. Oddly the years of open competition hasn't changes any of that.

I live in a small rural village in North Essex. I used to have about 5 Mbps broadband, but BT now have a FTC box up the road (50yds) so I upgraded to fast broadband @ approx 45 Mbps.

Another firm has laid fibre cables in my village, and many surrounding villages, but for various reasons I don't want to deal with them.

If Labour get in will I get a refund ? :lol:

In the opening post, Doc asked why so many Scottish politicians are named after fish...

...which reminded me of how many famous racing drivers are named after Scottish towns:

Stirling Moss
Eddie Irvine
Lewis Hamilton
Ayr Town Centre

What for?

But they suggest you may get FTTH rather than FTTC.

IMHO, the real difference is if they start to offer symmetric data rates.
