This is a handy little site. https://www.theyworkforyou.com/
You can look up all sorts of interesting things about your MP, or any MP. You can see how they voted in key votes, check their expenses claims, see what they've declared in the "Register of Members’ Interests," and much more.

Re: Taking the piss out of politics
A special for Friday 13the December.
A Trump style earworm chant for all you Brexiteers.
You can even dance a conga line out of ’Spoons, through the bookies, and all the way down past the boarded up shops.
Don’t sing the bits in brackets, they are the dance instructions.
What’s not to like.
After me...1, 2, 3, and:
Fuck...Fuck...Fuck Business!.... (stick out your left leg)
Fuck...Fuck...Fuck Business!....(stick out your right leg)
Fuck...Fuck...Fuck Business!..... (stick out your left leg)
Lets get Brexit DUN...OY! ....... ( raise your fist and yell)
Fuck...Fuck...Fuck Business!
Fuck...Fuck...Fuck Business!
Fuck...Fuck...Fuck Business!
Lets get Brexit DUN...OY!
Even better, see if you can find a Boris lookalike to lead it. It’ll be even more exciting.

Re: Taking the piss out of politics
So you agree that we should have a second referendum then?Equally bad are those who make up their mind and never change it, circumstances can change and wise people can re-evaluate their viewpoint.

An interesting question.Lurcher300b wrote: ↑Sun Nov 24, 2019 1:26 amSo you agree that we should have a second referendum then?Equally bad are those who make up their mind and never change it, circumstances can change and wise people can re-evaluate their viewpoint.
1) A referendum (on a particular question) should be a once only occasion.
2) If another referendum ON THE SAME QUESTION is sanctioned then what's to stop referendum 3-4-5 etc if the result is contested. Like what may happen if Scotland get a 2nd referendum on independence.
3)On any future Brexit referendum the options will probably be different , so any comment would depend on what those options were.

Re: Taking the piss out of politics
1) So, at face value, the 1970s referendum on the same question is our answer and the 2016 referendum should not have happened?valvesRus wrote: ↑Sun Nov 24, 2019 11:30 amAn interesting question.Lurcher300b wrote: ↑Sun Nov 24, 2019 1:26 amSo you agree that we should have a second referendum then?Equally bad are those who make up their mind and never change it, circumstances can change and wise people can re-evaluate their viewpoint.

2) A 2nd referendum would be a different question. The original question was 'stay in the EU or leave it, regardless of destination'. The 2nd referendum would be 'now you know the destination, do you want to go there or stay where you are?'
3) See no.2

Re: Taking the piss out of politics
I've always thought that getting into "the common market" in Europe was a good idea, but being part of a "European state" is not what a lot of people wanted.
Anyway, a lot can happen over 30 years.
