I started to buy things after black friday, every third post was about the 30% discount. Now I’m finished, bought the last chip I wanted, so there is no more barrier in the way of the British triumph.

Very generous should it happen, but England do have the luck of the draw.

Does trade in still apply?

No trade ins in principle as I would lose money, I don't mind giving bargains but losing money is a bit daft. If there is BIG difference in price I will look at it at the time.

I just thought it might add some fun to the process, and I can assure you it is not me now wanting England to lose. In reality I am not a footy person, more hard little red ball and long white trooosers. I thought about it for the Cricket Ashes in Oz last winter, then thought "nah" waste of forum space, at least this has a chance to happen and it will liven up my interest.

Regardless of whether England get to the final or not, for the generous NVA discount, this has been a highly enjoyable World Cup to watch on the telly. One interesting game after another. It has been a great festival of football.

England will never have a better chance of reaching a World Cup final. I reckon we'll beat Sweden after extra time and penalties, and then (probably) Croatia will be really tough but not unbeatable.

I think the semi final between Belgium and France will be to all intents and purposes the final.

At least all the cynical, cheating, diving teams have all gone out now. Not that any team these days isn't averse to a spot of cheating, but the levels reached by the South American teams this tournament was staggering. Good riddance.

Cynicism is all relative.
France Denmark playing out a mutually beneficial draw was cynical.
England deliberatly losing / playing at friendly levels with Belgium was cynical.
Russia parking the bus and playing for a penalty shoot out against Spain was cynical.

Of all the teams, Belgium have played with the most integrity. Resulting in me being quite happy if they go on to win the bloody thing.

But then it's in the traditions of the competition for teams to win it via a bit of cheating. Hand of God '86. Peru Argentina '78. Ball over the line '66. Etc.
Maybe that's an omen for England? Along with Real Madrid being European champions, Man City winning the League title, Burnley getting into Europe in 1966 and 2018.
