I have thought of a brilliant way to win the football world cup. It involves a law that says any player who wishes to play in the English Premier League for more than two years has to take British citizenship.

There is precedent, for a while about half the English Cricket team and the captain were really South African.

Well they would have a different incentive. To get foreign players to play in the Scottish leagues they would be promised they would never be made Scottish citizens  and three new sets of electrically heated thermal underwear and all the deep fried battered Mars Bars they can eat free of charge

returning to the issue , if you have lived here for five years and never played for your birth country it is possible to play for England. Alas those that did qualify didnt choose england . cesc fabreagas choose his native spain.

Simples, just tell the "Forigner Footy Folk" that if they pledge their allegiance to England they can bring all their family and friends over to stay as well.

The expert on everything on the planet has pronounced his wisdom. Referring to Celtic of course. WELL personally IMO they would be lucky to avoid relegation from the Championship if they actually played in a proper competitive league (not just my opinion but also my bruv in law who played centre forward for Spurs and England  ). In the past at least they had Rangers to play against, now it is mostly the quality of the English Conference they are up against as far as I can see.

What the Dutch football hooligans (Feyenoord from Rotterdam) did in Rome yesterday was absolutely horrific. I hope they feel deeply ashamed of themselves and whatever punishment they get - they deserve it!

I am not a football fan - and this is one of the reasons why. :angry-steamingears:
