SEBO

Unread post by Dr Bunsen Honeydew »

Rather like the idea of the NEBO as at AoS, far too far for me.

Shall we do a SEBO (south eastern bake-off) for London and the SE. I don't mind searching out a venue near me and taking the risk on hiring it. Hopefully it wont just be NVA

Doc, you are stepping in at just the right moment as I want to hear some NVA kit. I have the full Teddy Pardo system (dac, pre and monos) and would be more than happy to bring them along. I am also intrigued by the cube speakers as they could be just what I am looking for.

How long do you think it takes to organise these things, it will (if it happens) will be late summer or early Autumn.

Depending on the date, and if you'll have me I'll try to attend and bring a variety of bits and pieces. I have a mate near Kent who'll put me up.

I like nowt better than hearing new and different kit.

Doc, I was not expecting you to say "next week". I am perfectly happy to wait until the Autumn. It also gives me an opportunity to put a few pennies in the hi-fi fund. If I end up staying with the TP I can then have a lp/cd buying spree so it's a win-win situation for me.

This is not a priority thing and will probably not happen but it is worth nosing around it if there is interest to do it. BUT if someone is more keen and has a motive then organise one yourself. OR even have a home bake-off.

Start small and see where it goes from there.

The first NEBO was held in a local cafe. Simple refreshments were provided and an honesty jar to chip in for the costs.

Find a friendly local cafe or bar owner with a love of music would be my suggestion.

Hi

I am the organizer of the Nebo meets. You have been given some great advice already but if there is any tips or advice i can give please don't hesitate to get in touch. I had to chuckle when i saw this post. It's a great idea and you should do it. It is very rewarding.
