Hello to everyone.
I am new to this forum.
A bit about me:
Been through the hifi mill for the last 28 years, now settled on a what could be called a mullet system (£80 CDP-2nd hand price, £1800 Integrated Valve Amp, £8000 Speakers) which I just really enjoy all types of music through.
I do not believe any hype about hifi, I don't trust dealers, I listen with my ears, I believe that all hifi was invented over 40 years ago. Believe that Linn/Naim only survive through clever marketing and selective choice made available at dealers
Interested in all aspects of how, why, hifi works and what affects the music heard and what does not affect the music signal.

Hi and welcome from me :D
It's amazing what £80 can buy you in terms of used CD players these days. In terms of your last sentence, there's already some interesting stuff on the "ask a designer" thread and you can always ask some new questions from which we'll all undoubtedly benefit.

Welcome , toaster man: that's the most unbalanced component spend a member has admitted to since Jerry flounced off in a huff. What speakers ?
Re: New Member
Welcome from me too.
I've just bought a Pioneer CD player (stable platter) on the Bay for £26. These things sound terrific to my ears, so why spend more? Valves and Quad 57s for me.
Not convinced by the snake oil salesmen then? What a strange chap!! :D
