Tannoy ST-100 Supertweeters

A nice pair of Tannoy Supertweeters. No use for these now I'm using the Bastanis. In good condition, there are some dings on the sides and bottoms, but nothing that can be seen from the listening position. Fronts are unmarked. Looking for £400 for these. I will post but would prefer pick up. I'll only post insured so would probably be around £15-20 or so, but I'll only charge at cost. Demo in Leeds no problem, give me a shout. I have the original boxes and also the brown cloths that they are supposed to sit on.

See you have a pair yourself. They are nice things, but I couldn’t really use them with the Bastanis.

Yeah bought from Steve ( mad vinyl junkie ) in Leeds for a similar bargain price. I love them, had ST25 before. I can't hear any sound difference but the 100's look nicer.

Which Bastanis are you using Ali. I have never heard a pair but they certainly look very interesting.

I got back late last night from a small get together where I had the opportunity to measure the frequency response of these, which was a very useful exercise. In many ways these are the best speakers I've had at home, but I've always a niggle or two about certain aspects of their performance. Turns out the bass drivers were being run out of phase as the Behringer amp driver them inverts phase on the output. It was probably this that was mostly niggling me as I seem to be sensitive to phase.

As standard the tweeter is run via an L-pad and a 1uf cap in series, giving a 1st order crossover around 10k, which the measurement showed is too high. We clip leaded some more caps on to give 2.5uf which gave a much better measurement result and was immediately noted to be a big improvement by all there on trying some music. So today's project will be swapping the tweeter caps, once I can be bothered getting them out of the car.

They are certainly some of the most attractive open baffles i have seen. Love the white frame and black driver contrast.

Yes, they are quite domestically acceptable, especially given that’s an 18” bass driver.
