Back to discussing music and how your hi-fi plays it. Nothing else is important.

TonyL is quoting his rules again.

The audio community

pfm sits harmoniously in the audio community along with many other audio and music forums. It is not acceptable to bring personal argument, conflict or vendetta from another place onto this forum, nor is it acceptable to post links to external websites hosting such content.

Well per usual that is bollocs

I will do the real version.

The audio community

pfm sits harmoniously in the audio community, along with many other audio and music forums apart from with Hi-Fi Subjectivist. It is not acceptable to bring personal argument, conflict or vendetta from another place onto this forum, nor is it acceptable to post links to external websites hosting such content. Unless it refers to NVA or Richard Dunn, then you can say what you like as long it is negative and not recommendation or praise.

This is funny.

https://www.pinkfishmedia.net/forum/thr ... 068/page-9

Born in the darkest depths of old UK

Went to Sweden for floors to lay

Laid also wife and soon there were three

Built him a house from big long bits of tree

Rudooooolf, Rudolf Hucker!

Wildest hi-fi frontier!

Got him a hi-fi and began to hear

An obsession that was soon to cost him dear

Hated the Sondek, of that there’s no doubt

But needed to buy four to find it out

Rudooooolf, Rudolf Hucker!

Wildest hi-fi frontier!

Told it like it was (at least in his view)

Those who said otherwise got short shrift too

Had enough loitering within tent

Formed him a forum and so off he went

Rudooooolf, Rudolf Hucker!

Wildest hi-fi frontier!

His forum’s the loudest and (so he says) best

Made from folk who’re banned from all the rest

Plus lotsa cranks and weirdos as well

Creating an audiophool version of hell!

Now someone joins and speaks of Mr R Abbot products. Lo and behold Mr Bumpypopley locks the thread. None of that here he says.

It is a change from Eastenders on SoF.

https://pinkfishmedia.net/forum/threads ... 10.217561/

Just stumbled on this thread at PFM.

It seems that John Westlake the guy behind the Audiolab Mdac has taken serious amounts of money from PFM members to produce a new dac and streamer. It's a crowd funded project. Some of the investors are into it for four figure sums. YEARS later (maybe five?) there's no product, just endless excuses. Meanwhile Westlake has used the designs to produce streamers for ProJect and now for a new company called Stark Audio.

If ever there was a case for Glasgow hard men and white vans, this must be it..

The thread was full of piss takes thoroughly exposing a £800 foo product.

I very much doubt it. Tony L has odd motivations, remember this is his business site for his records etc. He thinks controversy will drive away potential customer, I think the opposite is true. I have noticed here if we are controversial or having a barny with someone the lurker / viewer numbers shoot up.
