Bandcamp are doing a one-day special on 1 May where they are charging NO commission and all proceeds go directly to the artists.

You can order CD's, LP's and downloads/streaming in almost any format. A wide range of well and lesser-known artists are on there and they need the support of music-lovers everywhere.

on Monday but then I got the email from Bandcamp about waiving the fees so I waited until Friday then ordered.

Sunderland Community Soup Kitchen DiN Fund Raiser

DiN is an independent electronic music label based in the North East of England. It is run by local composer Ian Boddy & artist/photographer Wendy Carroll.

The current pandemic has proved a challenging time for us all. For example most musicians have had all their live music events cancelled virtually overnight due to the worldwide pandemic. A beacon of light in this situation has been how the music platform Bandcamp have stepped up to the mark and have offered special events whereby they have taken zero commission on these so called “Bandcamp Fridays”. This has generated a real sense of community in the independent music sector.

Community is the key word here whereby people from all walks of life are helping each other out in times of need and wherever you live in the world you are part of a local community. It is with this ethos in mind that the DiN label wants to put something back into our local community. So for the next “Bandcamp Friday” on August 7th 2020 DiN will donate all its profit share to the Sunderland Community Soup Kitchen.
