Weirdest music you ever heard ...
I have one (only one - it's enough) CD from American psycho-acoustic pioneer Maryanne Amacher (died in 2009). She developed a technique where sound waves interact with your brain to produce truly weird and sometimes extremely unpleasant distortion effects inside your head.
Headphones on - and not for those of a sensitive disposition.
Maryanne Amacher: Living sound (1980)
Any more seriously strange recordings out there ?

Re: Weirdest music you ever heard ...
and then, by accident, I get onto the new Billie Eilish video 'Ilomilo' on youtube which makes use of something called '8D Audio Technology'
Got this running through headphones at the moment and it is truly bizarre!
Don't know how it's done but the music is floating around in space all around my head.
Talk about weird.
Listen and be amazed.

Re: Weirdest music you ever heard ...
When does it stop being music, and start becoming simply noise? Some of the so-called modern classical music I hear sounds (to me) like a deaf orchestra tuning up interspersed with a bloke carrying four crates of cutlery falling down a cast-iron spiral staircase.

Re: Weirdest music you ever heard ...
I'm not sure that any art is 'weird'.
At the time, though, these struck me as a little more unusual than most...

Apparently so. I knew they both came out of Dublin at roughly the same time, but didn't realise they were that closely connected.
