After 13 years, they might have realised that they actually like playing together, miss it, and fancy a final 'hurrah'. The audience certainly want it, seeing how quickly the tickets went.

Criminally high pricing mind...

The last tour in 2007(?) was definitely a 'going through the motions' effort. Saw them in a huge arena with the high-point being 'Domino'.

Checking out the Genesis rehearsal vid, I did not recognise the drummer - but it is Nic Collins (No Son of Mine! ) and the second guitarist/bassist is the regular Daryl Stuermer

Must confess that it doesn't sound all too wonderful either - like a cover band doing Genesis. The performances from Hackett and his crew are far more convincing. But it is early days yet and they will be rusty after 14 years of not playing - a few more months rehearsing will sort that out.

Info and tour dates here:

GENESIS UK & IRELAND 2021 DATES!
THE LAST DOMINO? TOUR
Re-schedule to September and October2021
Their first tour in 14 years
Tony Banks - Phil Collins - Mike Rutherford
Existing Ticket Descriptions and Hotel Arrangements remain valid as part of the advertsised Official Ticket and Hotel Experience.

Genesis, who are among the biggest selling recording artists of all time and one of Britain's most internationally renowned bands. The Last Domino? Tour 2021 will now start in Dublin on Wednesday 15 September and will be Tony Banks, Phil Collins and Mike Rutherford’s first live outing together since the globe-trotting, sell-out Turn It On Again: The Tour in 2007. They will be joined on stage by Nic Collins on drums, and the bands long time lead guitar and bass player Daryl Stuermer.

The decision to move the tour again is due to the global pandemic and even with the roll out of the vaccine, there are still a huge amount of uncertainties and unanswered questions that make a tour in April difficult for everyone. It is appreciated, that for whatever reason, those planning on attending the shows may not feel comfortable doing so, so by moving the tour we can alleviate some of those concerns and in turn that will allow the band and the crew to prepare with less unpredictability and create a show that both the band and fans alike will treasure and enjoy.

As far as I'm concerned, the last domino was Fats.

I'm not going. A singer sitting down, a strained 70 year old voice, nepotism not chester drumming. I'd have more fun watching a tribute act in a local pub.

When my dad died, I did not go and see him. Preferred to remember him in his pomp. I feel much the same about this genesis reunion.

I shall play the five live lps I have instead.

Golden Earring have officially stopped.

Lead guitarist George Kooymans (72) has been diagnosed with ALS.

Golden Earring were formed in 1961, in The Hague and held the record as the longest-serving performing rock band, even older than the Rolling Stones.
The current lineup has been together since the early 1970's.
