Vinyl sales are on track to earn more than CDs for the first time in over 30 years (in America), and record sales are expected to continue increasing throughout 2019

Its bloody bonkers. I suppose its only happening because of the rise of file based music and the downturn in cd sales. I might buy an album or two in York tomorrow. Must get some more Miles Davis :happy-partydance:

The figures reflect the huge price difference between CD and vinyl. In the 80s it was the other way round.

Yes. These are the elements. Buying on CD and ripping it often cheaper than digital download (HD Audio notwithstanding).

This is yet another reason that I am glad that I switched to CD and have not bought any vinyl in over a decade . Current prices are a rip off and pure profiteering . Actaul units sold is less than half of CD's but the revenue is so much more . Given that since they were introduced i have never paid over £10 for any individual CD and in almost all cases much less than that I know what I will be continuing to buy .
