I am ok with his voice.
Like a rolling stone
Blowing in the wind
Just like a woman
A hard rain is gonna fall
Just like a woman
Knocking on heavens door
Only a hobo
Its all over now baby blue
I shall be released
Forever young

Agree with Frettie, great song writer but voice is mince.

Boots of Spanish Leather - Nanci Griffith is a huge improvement compared to Dylan's version.
Frank...made me do it.

Speaking of covers, did ye know that "Ballad of Hollis Brown" was covered by a 70s rock group?

Try looking that one up on the internet -sumfink only a Progmasterman would know.

Sorry lads this is so wrong Dylan is one of the absolutes of Popular music, he is a poet and a fabulous songwriter and whilst his gravel tones are not to everyone taste I can and do often listen to him all night long.

Some of my favorite songs are Blowin in the wind, Oxford Town, Tangled up in blue, John Wesley Harding, All along the watch tower Simple twist of fate, Your a big girl now, Girl from the North Country, Visions of Johanna, Leopard Skin pill box hat, Sad eyed lady of the lowlands, Idiot Wind, the list really is endless, and favorite album is probably Blood and the tracks, I like simple acoustic harmonica early "Bob" although I have over 40 of his albums

The times they are a-changin version of the Ballad of Hollis Brown is an absolute classic bit of Bob and is typical of the era I love to listen too.

Ballad of a Thin Man

When the Ship Comes In (could be my top fav. Very rousing song and optimistic - unlike Dylan)

Visions of Johanna (haunting song - are Louise/Johanna ghosts? " the ghost of electricity howls in the bones of her face." ”Blonde On Blonde surprized me on first listen. It was a distinct change in direction. No more protest. With the exception of Johanna - with its brilliant visual imagery - the lyrics are simple. I did not like this 2lp set that much. Only later realized the strength of the melodies. "Visions" seems to me like it doesnt belong on this lp - its finer.)

All Along the Watchtower remarkable song

A Hard Rains a-gonna Fall

North Country Blues (as in "House of Rising Sun" its a woman narrating. You can cut the dejection with a knife. Absolutely love this song. Sounds to me like he lifted the tune from English folksong - he did so on others:in 1962 he witnessed a performance in London by Martin Carthy and took the tune of Scarborogh Fair and Lord Franklin for Boots of Spanishj Leather and Girl from North Country)

Chimes of Freedom

Its all right,ma (Dylan calls out greed, consumerism...a fucked-up world)

Desolation Row (almost psychedelic carnival procession of nightmare characters)

One Too Many Mornings gentle and full of remorse

Jeez O Andy, you are a superfan of the man, 40 albums!!!, i struggle to listen to him for 40 seconds.

While i am on, just remember Bonnie Raitt's version 'It's all over now, baby blue', far better than Bob's job.
