Dirty, hazy, former coal-dusty Sheffield is certainly a good call. Lots more came outta there.

But I give it to Germany : Golem.

Klaus Schulze did an 'industrial' concert called Stahlsinfonie (steel symphony) in a factory in 1980.

Working with machine operators and the sounds of the metal processing works. The whole performance was filmed and transmitted to be projected live in a concert hall.

Klaus Schulze - Stahlsinfonie

A DVD of this concert accompanies the latest remastered version of the album 'Dig-It'.

The "Golem" lp by German group, SAND was '72.

But they had been around in late 60's as P.O.T.
