But ,again, I'm confused. Give me an example: how would you treat - for instance - this: the Cream lps and the Ginger Baker Airforce lps.)?

Does anyone separate solo artists from bands? (I mean complete different shelves.)

Have not got any Cream LPs, but after the Beatles they are stored under John, Paul, George and Ringo for example. They are in chronological order for each artist, the Beatles starting with a live bootleg from Hamburg.

It may do (though you use the word archive, that was my point), but catalogue is to make a list especially in order, but I don’t think you are talking about making a list and ordering the list, you are talking about ordering the thing you are making a list of, not the list.
