I'd say it's the right band but the wrong album. 'Beatles for Sale' should be the one.

Beatles for sale is correct. By this time Beatlemania was taking its toll and they had met Dylan. They started to pull away from the standard boy meets girl approach to song writing.

That's it! The self titled first album of Santana. A lot of recorded improvisations, very good, extremly powerful!
