Re: Round whatever: What record am I listening to?
Seeing as Missy is only interested in what he is interested in and Hannes has gone off to recuperate from a deluge of obscure European psychedelia .. I'll reveal to the 3 labradors and beagle that follow this thread - the mystery album:
Another in the list of 'Lost Classic Albums That Should Have Been Huge If There Was Any Justice In This World'.
Demon 'The Plague'
Demon- The Plague (FULL ALBUM) 1983
Demon were a part of the late 70's/early 80's wave of metal bands who carried the torch for hard-rock after Punk had died down; acts like Saxon, Iron Maiden, Def Leppard and The Tygers of Pan Tang. After a pair of well-received, doomy metal LP's Demon regrouped and tried to go more mainstream and commercial with a large dose of Pink Floyd and a newly-acquired keyboard player. The resulting album is a superb mix of strong songwriting, great musicianship, atmospheric productiona and the occasional chainsaw-guitar workout.
Later albums like 'Heart of Our Time' took this mellower direction further but Demon had alienated their metalhead fan-base and struggled to find a new audience. Pity.
A decade later, gloom/death metal band Anathema would follow a similar trajectory with resounding success.

Re: Round whatever: What record am I listening to?
To survive this period of confusion maybe a bit of distraction could be useful. So reanimating an old thread: What record am I listening to? Feel free to ask!
