A bought a copy of foxtrot the other day. Played it is immaculate. 45 yr old. ..... o yea , it was on vinyl

this almost warrants a thread of its own on who has bought which remaster of an additional disc and which were better/worse

I have bought the entire Genesis catalogue firstly on vinyl and then 3 different CD editions.

I've only got one knackered CD - Floored Genius by Julian Cope. Even on that one it's only the last couple of tracks that don't play properly. It was the first CD I bought, and got played to death.

I found i could successfully rip CDs which would not play properly.

Which rip-program did you use?
Some skip over damaged sections of a CD and others (like EAC) go back and try to recover as much data as possible.

It was some time ago and i cant remember off hand. It took a while to rip some of the damaged ones and there has been no problems on play back.
