Formed from the ashes of a semi-legendary band that contained future members of Siouxsie & the Banshees AND Frankie Goes to Hollywood.

Big in Japan IS the semi-legendary band that spawned other acts like The KLF and Lightning Seeds.

Album I'm looking for has a title that is a deeply philosophical question.

Big in Japan were an art-punk outfit and the house-band at Eric's, a club in late 70's Liverpool. The members went on to form bands like :

The Teardrop Explodes
Dalek I / Dalek I Love You
Lori & the Chameleons
Original Mirrors
Etc. etc.

Other seminal bands in the same scene were the almost-famous Deaf School and The Crucial Three (Julian Cope, Pete Wylie and Ian McCullough - what a clash of ego's that must have been!).
