Only Cale album I have is one where he shares with another -"Church of Anthrax" . And it sounds nothing like Cale.

Coincidentally I was THIS AFTERNOON listening to Norway band RING VAN MOBIUS and it sounds exactly like Van Der Graff Generator (and "Epitaph" King Crimson). You can count the bands that sound like that with one hand.
