What about Belgium - One capital: Brussels but split into the Dutch-speaking Flemish north and the French-speaking Walloon south.

Much to my chagrin I now must admit a mistake.
I made the fatal mistake of not checking it out on a map:. I trusted bullshit-American knowledge of Europe instead:
I was watching the tv program ,Millionaire and the question was (to best of my memory) "which 2 capitols share the same border?" The answer was Budapest and Bucharest. Now , looking on the map , I note they do NOT. Not even close.

So...sorry.


the two countries then are Hungary and Romania.
