Re: Guess wot common prog lp I have in my hand
I don't classify Kansas / Styx as prog either.

Re: Guess wot common prog lp I have in my hand
Styx had a few prog glimmers on the early 2 lps - 'Movement for the Common Man', 'A Day' and 'Suite Madame Blue'. And later, 'Castle Walls'. But prog was too few and far between.
In short, lps are too patchy to be regarded prog.
If you include Styx then you have to include a load of other dubious "progs" loike, say, Max Webster.

I'll have to hang my sorry head in shame. Don't I get half a point for spotting Starcastle first?

Karnny: you insist KANSAS are not prog.
Yet you know the band Proto-Kaw which were pre-KansAs and whose '72-'73 works were clearly influenced by the British proto underground like Dawn,Neon labels.
Very, very few US progs of the era were going there, but pre-Kansas were.
