The "Mock The DJ-Culture " thread

Unread post by Mississippi Blind Child Assburn »

DeeJays are dungus.
Conceited morsels of dung.
And their wannabee droves of lickspittle are even worse.

Blind Child Assburn is not (necessarily) trying to be confrontational here.
Just bringing the obvious to the fore.

Feel free to use this valuable thread to mock these puffed-up clowns and their pathetic worshippers.

When talking about Dee jays do you mean the ones that just put a few records on at a party or on the radio or the ones who believe they are artistes and bring out their own albums etc ?

It maddens when some twot scratching records is held up as some kind of musical artist and an innovator. Money some are getting for this is obscene. I'm assuming we aren't talking your radio DJ's and ones that do local pubs. It's all part of the laziness that means you can be a star without any musical ability and even be a talent show judge on people with at least some ability.

I totally agree, utter :Bllocks:

But there is some skill to it. Perhaps any of us could learn the technical side of it pretty swiftly but the main part is possibly the mood of a room and how to 'bring it up and down' effectively - seems to be what these deaf kids look for. Of course, venues/clubs want happy punters, because they spend more money.

I had a friend who believed club culture came about because kids haven't developed a conversational technique, so blast it out for a few hours in a club and they don't need it. It's Early Learning for music. Without any learning.

But I couldn't give a flying f***. Just give me some hush and an acoustic piano.

I quite like the stuff that Ron Rothfield (Raja Ram) does although he is also a classically/jazz trained musician too.

The stuff he does with Simon Posford as Sphongle is excellent.

Or is Missi aiming at the Ibiza type DJ?

I thought this thread was referring to the Fat Boy Slim type of club DJ ? Radio two have replaced many proper DJ's with celebs.

I must confess that RADIO DJs completely slipped my mind.
I would think that most peeps with large music collectros, loike myself, pretty well never listen to fucking radio.

I do however listen to 8am news (well, mainly to catch the weather) on CBC, which is cross-Canada main radio.
What I hate about this broadcast is the forced smiley-smiley: nothing and I mean nothing (music, books or movies) wot they review is not praised.
(Also, like all book awards here in Canada, it seems that if a book has no actual CANADIAN content, its not likely to be reviewed.)
Now WHAT IS PRAISED,and constantly so, are the reviewers/DJs themselves. They inform us their names every quarter hour or so!
CBC was also critized for being bloated. Years ago they apparently went through a major culling, but even so, you have half-hour talk bits where , at the end you are given a whole roster of some 10 people responsible including two producers and the like, for fucksake.

But wot really gets me about the CBC - the last two years or so - is the interminable barrage of indigenous peoples' affairs. It does not take someone new to CBC to quickly notice this. I have nothing against North American Indians, but to give so much radio space ..... But look if there are any actual Indian radio hosts on CBC - well you have to look hard. The reason: the Indigenous see through this false CBC-shit. It is clear that the government is forcing CBC to be Indian-news top-heavy, so as to make itself look Indian-friendly even though it continually puts off making actual LIVING settlements with the Indians. The Indians live in gross poverty with many communities lacking even proper water.

Well...off topic ....
