Having to re-rip my favourites to WAV as FLAC just doesn't sound right anymore.
Don’t bother re ripping, just convert to WAV if you want to, you will end up with the same wav file.

I'll try that and compare to a fresh rip. Curious to see how it goes.

You will end up with the same file as if you ripped it directly to WAV. In most cases it will have been ripped to WAV and then converted to FLAC by the ripping software. We did some tests on Audio Talk between the resultant files from ripping the same CD with different software. Once you removed the slightly different length silence at the front and end of the file the results were numerically identical, i.e. identical.

If you start with a WAV, then convert it to FLAC, then back again to WAV the result will be identical to the original.

I convert all flacs to mp3s.

ADMIN EDIT - we have enjoyed your posts and you have been at least acceptable up to now. But don't "try to fuck with our heads", it is a pointless and unfriendly exercise - OK!

As a joke it is acceptable but then put a Smilie or something to show it.
