Killer one liner.

So, if thats the case the drummer in Stars on 45 must be up there, out of the way and never miss a beat.

I agree that the most important role of a drummer is to keep time, but the very best do more and are fundamental to the creativity of the band. I am referring to the likes of John Bonham, Keith Moon, Neil Peart and Carl Palmer.

Sonore MicroRendu, Chord Mojo 2 MCRU PSs, AQ Carbon USB cable & JB FMJ

I am reminded of Ian McCullogh's response when asked what difference he had noticed after replacing a drum machine in Echo & The Bunnymen with a human drummer:

'The drum machine had a better sense of humour, and smoked less dope'.

This guy? anybody? Anybody? Nope?
Pretty much the direct opposite of Charlie Watts elegant efficiency.
Gotta love a showman tho

It's 45 years since I last listened, and I'm in no rush to repeat the experience. On and on the wretched thing goes.

Sorry, I'll get me coat.

Whilst I have to agree with the Doc on the role of a drummer and that Charlie Watts is a great drummer, it's nice on the odd occasion to see and mostly hear what they are capable of.

My revisiting of Toad last night was one of slight horror at first, but once Jack bruce and Eric Clapton moved out of the limelight to let Ginger take the lead I felt nothing but wonderment and total admiration for his skill and complete mastery of his art. I played it twice!

I first heard Toad when I was 12, making it 47 years Joe - so no need to get your coat m8. Whatever folk think of it, It certainly has its place in rock history

Alfi , it is okay to listen to cream once every 45 years , it is a capital offence to not listen to Genesis once every 4.5 days . ;)

If you want to know about Ringo's drumming, listen to these guys for 3 minutes, and then to Ringo himself...
