I always thought Ringo got a rough deal, especially after the fake Lennon quote started doing the rounds where J.L. was supposedly asked if he thought Ringo was the best drummer in the world and replied that "Ringo isn't even the best drummer in the Beatles." As far as I know the credit for that actually goes to one Jasper Carrot. I've always rated him as a good drummer.

Jasper Carrot a drummer?
No mention of Ginger Baker yet. (or am I the only one who actually listens to Toad?)

Here's one from me Yonodav Halevy. He's the drummer with The Apples. I've seen them a few time and he leads the band. I've seen them with a substitute drummer and they were no where near as good.

I think you get the idea from this. (SQ not so good).

How could we forget Ginger until now? I'll try and get around to listening to Toad again this evening, it's be a while since I last listened.

Not 'arf. Thats great, I've not heard of him/them before, I like it. I bet their gigs are fun. You've seen them over here in the UK Terry?

A drummers job is to keep time not try and outshine. I find flash drummers don't keep good time. Charlie Watts stays out the way looks as bored as a intelligent person on AoS, yet he drives the band, and keeps good time.

A good drummer makes a band, trouble is a lot of bands just became a bunch of shows off with prog. I put Phil Collins in the show off sub group and he really doesn't keep good time and drive the band so they are just a bunch of flash individualists.

This is an example of what I mean very few of you would know him and he was a kid at the time but bloody hell he kept good time.

It's 45 years since I last listened, and I'm in no rush to repeat the experience. On and on the wretched thing goes.

Sorry, I'll get me coat.
