After reading peoples responses on this thread from people whose opinion I have a lot of time for, it would seem the issue of genesis remasters really is a matter of personal preference and record dependant.

May have to buy them all now :angry-screaming: :lol:

Something quite nasty happens to the Nick Davis mix of 'mad mad moon' during the louder bit starting at 5:00. I thought it was hitting a limiter but looking at the time it doesn't seem to be.

Im sure they do fisherman, but you know how infuriating it can be if the bandwidth suddenly drops by 0.001% or the dynamic diffraction drifts by a mere 0.002% - Those sort of errors can render a Trance / Fusion album unplayable... :lol: :guiness;

Daniel Quinn wrote:I have at least 4 copies of every genesis vinyl lp . The only one which is truly bad is "And then there were 3" Don't get me wrong , as examples of how good vinyl can sound they range 3 to 7 out of 10. But Genesis unlistenable , get away with yourself .

I spent my formative years listenining to them on cassette on a Walkman .
You might find the Nick Davis 'Then there Where Three' preferable. It's a little compressed but has more balls but I'm on the fence with this one. For the early albums that Classic Records did (they missed Trespass and I don't have Live), those are the only copies I have kept. Can't see them being bettered especially 'Selling England By The Pound'. Also I think the Nick Davis remix of 'Seconds Out' on vinyl is excellent and betters an original. Genesis Live on original large mad hatter sounds great. Tempted to try the earlier Nick Davis vinyl titles starting with Trespass. It appears they are all being repressed again as Amazon are listing the individual titles as 2016.

Genesis were a dangerously subversive group - their album covers designed to turn youngsters into violent terrorists:

Beheading of infidels

Secret meetings at night

Refugees escaping from torture

The destruction of western cultural artefacts

They were all a part of the conspiracy !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
