Heyyyy. That's really good, in a sounds-a-bit-like-Klaus-Schulze sort of way.
Wasn't he in Neuronium?

What i need if anyone has one is an original Gil Mellé 'The Andromeda Strain' soundtrack LP on Kapp records [Silver open up sleeve].. I only have a later reissue without the opening, not quite the same really.

TD are still the kings of the EM world. I saw them (Froese, Franke, Haslinger) in Bradford in 1986, an unforgettable experience.
Kept up with the music up to the departure of Chris Franke and have a few later releases. 'Underwater Sunlight' i regard as the last classic TD album.

!'ve got my ticket too - tucked away in the Poland LP, it was 5 pounds. They weren't so popular around then, most of the crowd were there out of curiosity I think. Did you also get a guitar freakout from Froese & Haslinger - Heavy metal time!

Sad, Fretless remembers the Bradford gig as being utterly brilliant and one of the best concerts he has ever attended.

Yes, the SQ was top rate. And there was a single big mirror ball suspended above the stage which was central to the lighting effects - simple but very effective.

The Haslinger period was a turning point for TD, he injected new life into a band that was definitely running out of steam and beginning to be more seen as a group that did soundtracks (remember 'Streethawk'?}. The initial result (Underwater Sunlight) was very promising, but then Chris Franke left (soundtracks for 'Babylon 5') and Edgar began to use TD effectively as a solo project. 'Optical Race' was just the Froese/Haslinger duo and showed that TD was definitely moving into snappy (and bland), short-form pieces - although it ranks among the best TD discs with regard to recording quality.

Excuse the verbal splurge, I wrote and translated for a Dutch/English EM magazine for a couple of years and TD were mentioned very frequently.
