15th, I'll take that as a win for us !!
Sorry Fret but I thought the Neds were very average, along with most of the rest. I liked that Portugal flew in the face of the others and it paid off for them.
Without a shred of jingoism, I can say that our girl had by far the best voice and probably the best song but of course that means zip in Eurovision. The fucking Irish didn't even give a bloody point, the bastards!!

Yes. The Dutch girls weren't at their best, but they were singing more for their terminally-ill mother who had been flown into Kiev as a surprise and was in the audience. That's why they burst into tears at the end of the song.

Lucie Jones sang very well and should have picked up more points. Big surprise for me was Belgium - their girl had the charisma of a frightened rabbit but managed to be quite convincing in the final. Good song too.

A final comment.

Thank god it is over for another years, and perhaps something will happen to stop us suffering from it next year

Not likely    Problem is the European public voters don't like us - 99 points from the jury and 11 from public vote. Ironic so many of them want to move here. Roll on Brexit I say. Perhaps they could include banning Eurovision in the negotiations?

Well, it's Eurovision time again and the Netherlands has got into the final with cowboy-rocker Waylon. We got picked last, again - that's about the fifth time in six years that Holland has nearly suffered collective heart failure as the final act to go through.

Waylon was half of The Common Linnets who came second to the Austrian bearded transvestite some years ago. So if you want a slice of deep down and dirty Southern Rock check out this clip,

They've banned China from showing the final because they censored the Irish LGBT act. Did they think China would lift repression and join the PC brigade? Good place to take a holiday if you want to avoid it.

Not bad. A bit 'generic' but probably the most listenable thing to come out of Eurovision (to suit my tastes, anyway) for decades; normally I'd rather sandpaper my own eyeballs than listen to the rubbish it spews out annually. I do have to say though, the bloke in the video pretending to be Peter Fonda should NOT have been given that cheapo resonator to waggle about. It made the whole thing look even more tawdry than it actually was. That music is played on Les Pauls. 335s, and SGs, and even the cheap copies of those can look decent...from a distance.

If the UK stopped being a major sponsor of Eurovision we might not have to suffer the song contest.
