Longtime 38 Special and founding Lynyrd Skynyrd bassist Larry Junstrom has died at the age of 70. .38 Special confirmed the news on Facebook.

"The Big Man on the Big Bass has left us," his former bandmates wrote. "He rocked arenas all over the world and succeeded in living his dream. He was truly one of a kind, a congenial traveling companion and a great friend to all with a humorous slant on life that always kept our spirits high -- a kind man with a big heart for everyone who crossed his path. There will never be another like him. We are sending our devoted love, strength and comfort to his wife Thania and Larry’s family. We will miss our friend and partner."

Yet another one gone, I'm sad to say: Keyboardist Larry Willis, once a member of Blood, Sweat & Tears, died at the age of 76, friends confirmed. He’d suffered a pulmonary embolism while being treated for pneumonia at a hospital near his Baltimore home.

Willis played with the jazz-rock band from 1972 until 1978, appearing on their albums New Blood, No Sweat, Mirror Image, New City, More Than Ever and Brand New Day. In addition, he was revered as a session pianist, appearing on hundreds of albums for other artists, along with 29 as a band-leader or co-leader.

His earliest recording credit is from 1966; his most recent is from 2017. His final stage appearance was in Baltimore on Aug. 1.

He "was" Marvin.

“Reverse primary thrust, Marvin.” That’s what they say to me.
“Open airlock number 3, Marvin.”
“Marvin, can you pick up that piece of paper?”
Here I am, brain the size of a planet, and they ask me to pick up a piece of paper.

I'm devastated to post as a fan for over 45 years that Steve Cash of The Ozark Mountain Daredevils past away today the 14th after a long illness.
I saw the band a few months ago in Kansas City and Steve wasn't present - the band advised he had fallen down at home and injured himself. More recently, the band announced that Steve wouldn't be touring with them in the future but would still be involved creatively.
Steve wrote some of my favourite Daredevils tracks and he will be sorely missed by fans all over the world.

Damn, that's a real shame. I wonder if people who don't recognise the name might remember this...

Mr Quackers, I don't know if you've seen this, it's an Ozark Mountain Daredevils concert broadcast on BBC TV's "Old Grey Whistle Test" in 1976.
