Efterklang - 'The Last Concert'

Came across this Danish band years ago and found them intriguing but totally forgot about them.
Now rediscovered and hooked on their blend of ambient, atmospheric Rock with contemporary Classical textures.
Think of: Radiohead meets Sigur Ros and then completely different.

Addictive. :music-listening: :music-listening: :music-listening:

I've ordered a few of theirs as well - things I only had as MP3 files, downloaded about 10 years ago.
Odd how one's taste changes over time.

The Innocence Mission 'Glow'

Image

The Innocence Mission - 4 - That Was Another Country - Glow (1995)

Holy guacamole - stuck on a voyage of discovery through my own CD collection. The mood radar is set firmly on 'mellow, ambient and precious' at the moment and discs are coming out that haven't seen the light of day for at least a decade.

Here is another lost diamond from American folk-pop outfit 'The Innocence Mission' which features the delicate voice of Karen Peris with tasteful and melodic arrangements from her husband Don and bassist Mike Bitts. Not entirely dissimilar to The Cowboy Junkies. This is an album that just glows in the sunshine and leaves you feeling strangely happy.

Yes it is, Its also amazing how many bands I missed first time around too, I am still unearthing stuff from 69-75 that I just never knew existed back then in the heyday of my record buying.

If your liking this "post rock" ambient stuff, try and grab a listen to Hammock unless you are already familiar with them.

I will be checking out that last title you posted too as I like the Cowboy Junkies. My mate brought the reissued rerecorded "Trinity Sessions" around a few months ago, he thought it was fantastic and dare he say it," but better than the original" he thought. I had to disagree.

Hammock - I've heard the name, will check 'em out. Ta.
There are some very interesting bands in the US post-rock/indie scene. They don't often get much exposure on this side of the Pond, though.

Hadn't spotted 'Trinity Revisited' from The Cowboy Junkies - might give it a try. :grin: :guiness;
