With nearly 25000 songs loaded onto my NAS I've had the Squeezebox set on Random Song selection all weekend and just listened to whatever comes up. Abba followed by Weather Report followed by Dion followed by Gong etc. You get the picture.

Hazel O'Connor - Breaking Glass

There was a post on the local music Facebook page about her gig at a venue no longer around in 1981. I was at the gig. The attention on Facebook was about the support band who were relatively unknown at the time. They were awful and performed to a visible reel to reel backing tape. I remember saying a support band they are and a support band they will remain. The band was Duran Duran.

I did not know you could do this, thanks for the info. It works no my NAS via BubbleUp. I had built up a big CD collection over thirty years, all ripped now. Came up with some surprises, tracks from albums i had forgotten about which I will play in full. Also some best forgotten.

I've forgotten so many songs and albums that I've ripped over the years, it's been quite fun. I agree with you though, for every gem that's played there's some real dodgy stuff coming on too

Accessing all the music on my NAS via the SBT is a breeze, and I can have Random Folder, Randon Song, Random Artist etc. Just listening to Lizard by King Crimson as I type (not one of my wife's favourites it has to be said).

Stupidity'- My favourite Dr Feelgood album. Captures the band at their ferocious and joyfull best in a live venue. Something they never managed to quite capture on the studio albums.
I defy anyone's feet to stay still or their arses not to wiggle to this awesome sound.

Lost Horizons 'Ojala'

For those who like (extremely) well-recorded Dream Pop in the style of Cocteau Twins / This Mortal Coil, an album from ex-Cocteau Twin and Bella Union supremo Simon Raymonde.
Perfect for closing your eyes, lying back and submerging yourself in beauty. :angelic-sunshine:

Elvis Costello - Armed Forces

Saw him in the early 80s and the set was only 45 minutes. Felt cheated. Saw Dr Feelgood a few years before.

"Armed Forces' was Costello's high-point. Every song is a gem.
