Yes, that Cressida album is a great listen - as is their first record with the brilliant track 'To play your little game'.

REO Speedwagon - 'You can tune a piano but you can't Tuna fish'

Reo Speedwagon - Roll With The Changes

Purveyors of heads-down-&-boogie arena-rockers and sugary power-ballads.

Time to get that air-guitar out of the cupboard. :character-beavisbutthead:

Currently busy working my way through a bunch of artists & albums that have crossed my radar over the last couple of years but I never got around to investigating. Then, out of the blue, an album just jumps out and totally transfixes my attention.
How the hell did this one get past me ?

The disc in question is 'Lost in the Dream' from The War On Drugs.

The War On Drugs - Lost In The Dream (Full Album)

This is an incredibly subtle, complex, uplifting and emotional recording that takes in influences from Dylan, Springsteen, REM and all points in between. Addictive and mind-blowing.
Prayers answered - there is still great new music out there !!!

Jazz at the pawn shop (record), haven't listened to it for a couple of years, not the best musicians but still an astonishing recording.

Reliving those angry, frustrated times of long-ago with the spiky post-punk sounds of 'Playing With A Different Sex' by the Au Pairs - an album that still sounds fresh and fierce. Up there along with Gang of Four 'Entertainment!' and The Comsat Angels 'Waiting For A Miracle' as one of the best albums made in '79 - '80.

Au Pairs - It's Obvious

The recent CD remaster reveals just what an excellent recording this is with some wonderfully rich bass-guitar and crisp drumming. coupled with scratchy guitar, dub effects and world-weary vocals from Lesley Woods. Brilliant!
