The whole clip is great. Inga Rumpf at her best and still with braces!

Pete Bardens - 'Heart To Heart'

Image

Peter Bardens- Raining All Over The World
Peter Bardens- Slipstream

Bardens left Camel on the completion of 'Breathless', unable to work with Andy Latimer anymore. This is the first album he recorded after the split and gives an indication of the direction Camel would have taken if Latimer had left instead. It's a sort of soft pop/jazz with very little guitar and more reliance on synths as a lead instrument.
'Doing the Crab' is reminiscent of Weather Report and 'Slipstream' goes back in time to 'Moonmadness' -era Camel. Bardens has assembled a tight band around him and his keyboard-work is very much what holds the whole album together.
I bought this on LP when it first came out (was a special introductory bargain price of 3.49) and played it a lot - mostly for the bittersweet song 'Raining All Over The World' which must have been written for a Camel album.

'Heart To Heart' has been lovingly restored and reissued on the Esoteric label and Pete Bardens is no longer with us.
Listen and cherish.
