You are not alone fretless. I love the Yoshimi album. I have "at war with the mystics" as well. May gave that a spin tonight.

Have you seen their live shows ? Totally bonkers.

Yoshimi is weirdly wonderful and the live shows are legendary. Never seen them, though.

Absolutely desolate and absolutely beautiful too. Crystal Lake is one of my favourite pieces of music - period and without noticing your post, I played it today and was going to link to it.. Not just a winter landscape, I love it in the summertime as well on a still afternoon...

There's an introduction by KS in the album liner, which explains how the music is half composed and the listener needs to make the rest for themselves. Not sure if it's posted anywhere, but if this kind of music and the artist appeals, it's worth a read as it applies to almost everything he's ever done..
